Why Inca Outdoors

A trekking company, not a reseller

We run our own departures with our own crew. That is how we keep groups small and standards the same on every trip.

  • Small groups

Fewer people on the trail means a pace that suits you and a guide who knows your name.

  • Local guides

Our guides grew up in these valleys. They speak English, know the routes in every season and carry oxygen and first aid.

  • Real mountain cooking

Hot, fresh meals prepared at camp by our own cooks, with vegetarian and other diets catered for when you tell us ahead.

  • Everything arranged

Permits, tickets, trains, transfers and camp equipment are booked and checked before you arrive.

Before you go

Questions travelers ask us

How many days should I spend in Cusco before a trek?

At least two. Cusco sits at 3,400 m and your body needs time to adapt before you climb higher. Easy days in the city and the Sacred Valley are the best preparation.

When is the best time to visit?

May to October is the dry season, with clear skies and cold nights. November to April is greener and quieter, with rain most afternoons. The Inca Trail closes every February.

Do I need to be very fit?

It depends on the route. Our pages grade every trip from easy to challenging. If you walk regularly and have acclimatized, the moderate routes are within reach.

How do I book?

Send us an inquiry with your dates. Once we confirm availability, we explain the deposit and the documents we need, such as your passport details for permits and tickets.
